Panaji is the official capital of Goa, and is located on the southern left bank of the river Mondovi. The city extends from Miramar Beach to the end of Mandovi Bridge. The panoramic view of the bridge is spectacular in the night with colorful lights.

The city's Miramar beach roads and streets stand cool and fragrant under the shade of aged banyan trees. The top view from the hillock known as Altinho is spectacular and a person is thrilled to observe the sunset from the hill.


Near the town are the hospitals, Goa Medical College, Public Libraries and Vegetable markets. Huge stored hotels and modern apartments, clean roads and old portuguese houses make the city more beautiful. The climate are pleasant throughout the year, with the temperatures falling to 21 C in the winters and rising to up to 33 C in the summers. The best season for tourists to visit is between September and June.

There are several comfortable hotels in Panaji. The people here are kind hearted and very friendly. The city is filled with colors during Carnival festival which is held in February every year.
